ABC's of the Word -- E

Encourage One Another
1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 (The Message)
9-11God didn't set us up for an angry rejection but for salvation by our Master, Jesus Christ. He died for us, a death that triggered life. Whether we're awake with the living or asleep with the dead, we're alive with him! So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you'll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you're already doing this; just keep on doing it.

One of the things I've discovered in the last few months of venturing into this world of blogging, is encouragement I have found from all of my new friends, and some old friends who follow that I never expected. I can't tell you how the words that are shared with me have strengthened me and given me such joy. It's just such an awesome thing women from all over the world speaking encouraging words to one another, in comments and in emails shared.
I'm off this weekend to a Women's Retreat with my sister and the ladies of her church, my first church home. This is one of my favorite times of the year, not just because I get to have my time with my sister, but I get to reconnect with many of the other women who encouraged me when I was a baby believer. I'm looking forward to what God has to speak into my heart this weekend. Of course I'll post on it too.
Love,
Carol

This blogging world does seem so strange in some ways...how connected I'm beginning to feel to online friends..when we've never met face to face yet God does indeed build us up. Hope your retreat is wonderful!

I love to encourage, be encouraged and see encouragement from one Sister to another!

Be blessed today, as we keep our eyes and ears open to His encouragement for each one of us.

Oh yes, indeed! This is such a critical and often overlooked aspect of the walk of faith in Jesus. We need each other! Blogging has provided me so many blessings that I NEVER expected. It is an unusual way that God has been able to help us, I believe!

Happy to meet you!

We are even told to encourage each other daily! Encouragement is important and I pray I'll speak encouragement out loud to people God puts in my path today and everyday. Blessings on your day and thanks for the encouragement!

The blogging world has opened more opportunities for us to speak words of encouragement, seems to me. Before the internet it was hard for us to fulfill the Great Commission but now we can send the Good News to the far corners of the earth with a few clicks.

This is a wonderful post!

All the best, Lana

Carol in California...your verse is so appropriate. We need to be God's people of hope because we really do need each other. I want to encourage you today by saying thank you for planting this verse in my heart.

Hey sweet Carol. Oh how times flies as you are right this is the big weekend. I will remember you in pray this weekend and also the things you asked of me for it.

I hope I've included you in my recent emails I massed to everyone about my prayer requests in my current days of housing.

Love you much,

It STILL amazes me (I don't know why?) how God is using the internet to join HIS people together, spreading HIS word, and yes, ENCOURAGING one another!!

Have a wonderful weekend at the retreat!!
