This weekend I watched for the second time the movie Fireproof. I love this movie for many reasons. I love that I can watch it with my daughter who's 9 and she can see in it that marriage is something that can be saved and made better when you put God at the center. I love watching the change that comes over the Caleb after he's given his heart to God. For me too the battle of the parasite of pornography is one that my husband battled, and I along with him had to learn to forgive, and learn the ways to help him in that battle. I even spoke almost word for word, Katherina's words to her mom, "when did I stop being good enough", myself to our Lord as we raged through our own battle.
But as I watched this movie on Friday night it was the song, "While I'm Waiting" by John Waller, that I loved the first time, but this time it put my dear friend Paula, better know to us in the blogshpere as Paula Sweet Pea, on my heart. This song reminded me of her this weekend as she patiently waits on God for answerer to her prayer.
I'm not sure how to embed a a video, something I could use help on if any of you want to share some advice, but here is a link to the video from the Fireproof "While I'm Waiting"
Paula, my prayer for you and your beloved continue. Love ya Girlfriend.
These are the Lyrics to.
I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait
I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait
I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord

Oh, Carol. I've been praying for Paula so faithfully. Thank you for sharing this, and for being such a sweet friend.
"I will serve you, worship you while I'm waiting"
Thanks for reminding me, Carol, that THIS is God's will for me while I'm waiting (somehow, I was thinking my job was to watch the clock/calendar). Bless you for your faithful friendship!
I have been praying for Paula also! And I love the song too. Like I said before, I think I should watch the movie a second time. I did buy the Love Dare book, but haven't Dared yet. !!!
Just lovely Carol, and Paula is such a deserving recipient of such a heartfelt post. I, like you and the other ladies, am praying for Paula also, that her prayer will be answered, and if not, that she will rest easy in the knowledge that the Lord has something even greater awaiting her. Much love to you, and Paula, as always. "The Other Paula" ;-) xo
Wow...I am humbled. I am blessed. You are such a precious, precious friend. I speak of you often when I mention all my bloggy friends. My friend in Cali...you are indeed a true friend.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and thinking so deeply of me. It means so much that I would weigh so heavy on your heart.
Love forever,
Paula
Sweet Carol,
I just went and listened to that song. I enjoyed it and seeing the clips of the movie. I SO want to see this movie but my heart is just not ready to intentionally seek out the pain I know will come with this movie. I know my heart will hurt as I see a couple hurting YET trying to work it out. I'm only presuming that the couple eventually "fireproof" their marriage. It may sound odd but that's hard for me. It's hard to watch a couple survive when beloved hasn't given me or us a chance yet.
The words of the song are so true.
You won't believe this but just this morning when I prayed I told God to help me live this life for today and to serve Him and not focus on tomorrow or what transformation is or isn't taking place in beloved's heart. I need to live for HIM and not for what He will do for me and us.
Love ya much,
Paula

Carol,
This is such a lovely post. It touches me to see you lifting up your blog sister, Paula, in love. We hear so much bad about the internet, but isn't it cool how God is using our little corner of the blogosphere for His glory!!
I loved the movie Fireproof and want to share it with our couples' Bible study since we just started a study on marriage.
Blessings,
Kelli
